The session on elasmobranchs (sharks and rays) in the Cap de Creus area will be led by Jordi Riera and will cover the following topics:
- Presence of elasmobranchs in the Mediterranean, along the Catalan coast, and in Cap de Creus - Current status of elasmobranch populations in the Mediterranean - Causes of population decline - Identification of the most easily observable elasmobranchs - Research and conservation - Importance of Marine Protected Areas for elasmobranch conservation
