This study is conducted in collaboration with the Departament de Territori, Habitatge i Transició Ecològica of the Generalitat de Catalunya (General Directorate of Environmental Policies and Natural Environment) and the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona.
Objective:
Collect data on sightings, captures, and strandings of basking sharks (Cetorhinus maximus) along the Catalan coast.
Future Plans:
Conducting population surveys.
Tagging individuals with satellite tags.
