For the 2025 season, it is planned to tag blue sharks with satellite tags such as "MiniPAT" and "SPOT" in the Cap de Creus submarine canyon (a concentration and reproduction area).
The team that will place the tags will be composed bystaff from Sotamar, staff from the Directorate-General for Environmental Policies and Natural Environment, staff from Forestal Catalana SA, and members of other collaborating entities in the shark tagging project, such as the Institut de Ciencies del Mar (CSIC), the Barcelona Zoo Foundation, the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona, and the Catalan Association for Responsible Fishing.
